Man, those black kids were so disappointed to hear that rapping and basketball is out the window. So happy to hear Obama say this, honestly. I gained more respect for him for this.

You didn’t understand, what he wanted to say.

  3. sergejivanovon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

First he discourages wishing to be a basketball star, and then he gives MJ as an example for hard work.

“Some of the most succesful people in the world are those who’ve had the most failures.”

What you mean like Prime Minister Gordon Brown? I think he only had those failures once he got… well, he didn’t get elected… once he seized power. Yeah.

Fuck this. I’m gonna be a rapper.

    Stirring message. Bravo!

Hard to believe those ungrateful brats had the audacity to appear bored. Proof that texting fries your brain.

ok so not all minorities unable to pay for health care, but when I turn on the TV who do i see protesting…Old white people. maybe it’s just my tv. ANYWAY this video is about education, not health care.

  11. itzhizgurlbethon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

Your completely stereotyping. There are plenty of whites, blacks, hispanics, asian Americans that cannot affort healthcare. College students, elderly, middle aged, laid off Americans. Half of the population of the U.S. is non-white. Race is a non issue in regard to healthcare. Everyone needs it, most can’t afford it, and everyone suffers because of it.

  12. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

i’m just going by what the news outlets put out there, and i don’t see any minorities protesting, and i guess that is do to the fact that we can’t afford health care.

  13. itzhizgurlbethon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

I guess you just weren’t looking hard enough. Try and be a little less superficial. You MUST know, deep down, that everyone, including yourself, will be affected by this issue. I’m hoping you’re just playing ignorant.

Success depends on whether you want to want it. Its suggestive. Those that want to want it will acquire success on one level or another.
On the other hand if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

    the title is misleading.

  16. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

that is sooo true, because everybody knows the stone age only last one year.

  17. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

then why was he speaking before teenagers. Most of the kids in the video were not listening, and texting.

  18. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

when ever I turn on the TV, the only people I saw protesting Obama’s healthcare plan are old white people. you would think they would want universal healthcare because they are always complaining about how much they coast.

I think the uproar began before he changed the speech. Originally, the lesson plans included children writing letters stating how they can “help their president”, and making posters and such about the president. It just seems like a bunch of pre-communist activity to me. Remember the Hitler children. They would study about him in school, sing about him. He changed an entire country by getting to whom first? The Children. They are moldable, easily influenced, and OURS. We have the right to refuse

I would just like to point out that I love the title of the video. I mean, that is basically what he said. How can the first “BI-RACIAL” president get up there and tell kids that the chances of them acheiving their dreams is, well, slim to none? He of all people should be telling them ” look at me. The odds were against me. I had a dream (no pun intended) and I acheived it. That’s some pep talk. Woo-hoo. I wonder if the lesson plan included applications for McDonalds and government assistance.

  21. itzhizgurlbethon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

“a bunch of old white people” That is the absolute most rediculous thing I’ve ever read. Do you honestly believe that only old white people get sick? Healthcare affects the entire country. In all actuality, only a small percent of the country has health insurance. That leaves the rest of the country to pass out of pocket. This country embodies every race and every age of people. EVERYONE needs healthcare, not just the old white people. It sounds like you have some race issues to work out.

  22. itzhizgurlbethon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

I don’t believe that the issue is that he’s black. If it were just that he’s “bi-racial”, then the world could surely adjust to that in time. BUT…….the lack of care in regard to healthcare, the WAR, salaries for teachers, No Child Left behind, the economic crisis, unemployment, um…what else? I’m not sure we as a country have seen any positive change since BO became president. Isn’t that his Moto? “Change”. Where is it? It’s not because he’s BI-RACIAL, it’s because he’s not doing anything.

  23. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

we should all want to help our president, because if he fails, we all fail. If people would just get pass the fact that he is black, and remember he is the president, their would not be all of these issues.

  24. PresidentTeleprompteon 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

    1) We know he removed the part about asking students “what they can do to help the president”.

    2) Health care is given a higher priority than a speech to school children. Obama can easily remove that part, in the eyes of people like userbrn738 make the opposition look like “fools”.

  25. Jamaari20on 31 Oct 2009 at 1:13 pm

why would he change something, that no one has heard? If that was the case, he would change all of his health care speeches before a bunch of old white people hear them, and prevent them from protesting.
